The activity commission (Act-com) takes care of the activities to be organized for members. These activities are mainly for the members of AEGEE-Tilburg, but sometimes also for others, such as members of other AEGEE-locals in Holland or even abroad, or for non-AEGEEmembers in Tilburg. The working group is free to be creative in making up the activities, many things are possible! Not any activity is required, but some have become somewhat tradition, such as:
- A Christmas dinner
- A pre-summer university party
- An association weekend
Every year AEGEE-Tilburg organizes a Summer University (SU). We do this together with a group from another AEGEE local, last yearAEGEE-Eindhoven. About 25-30 European Students will come for two weeks to Holland in July/August to get to know our Dutch culture and have a good holiday together. Within these two weeks we will visit cities, musea, parks, organize workshops about Dutch issues, have parties, exchange culture on the European Night, etc. Learn more about Summer Universities here.
To realize this, there is a Tilburg Summer University commission, together with the commission of the other local to plan all the activities, sleeping locations, food logistics etc. these commission will work and discuss apart from each other, and together. To be a good team, several teambuilding activities will be done, and a nice meal will be shared before each meeting. The peak of activities for this commission is in the weeks before the SU starts, and on the Summer University itself.
The Eurobulletin working group
The Eurobulletin is the magazine of AEGEE-Tilburg. Every member gets this magazine twice a year in their postbox. In the magazine many stories and experiences of travelling members are shared, photos are presented and some nice jokes and facts. Besides, the upcoming local and European events are listed. If you want to get some experience in journalism or communication this is an ideal commission, but also if you want to practice with lay-out and graphic design, or update your skills in fundraising.
